One size fits all?

Let's face it, fitness is NOT fun for everyone. I used to envy those people who were always excited about working out. Those people who spend countless hours in the gym, or worse those who are bright eyed and perky, anxious to get in the gym at the crack of dawn. Okay, so I understand their excitement...I feel the same way when I pull up to my favorite coffee spot. For most of us, exercise is seen as a necessary evil. Not a very positive commentary, coming from a fitness trainer, right?

There's a saying, "find something you love to do and you'll never work a day in your life..." Well fitness is the same way, find something you truly enjoy and that gives you the workout you need to optimize your health, and sticking with it won't be such a dreaded task. Truth is, most of the things that are good for us, aren't the most pleasant things to do unless we "spice it up." Adding cheese or sauces to veggies, adding a distraction (television or music) to push us through that treadmill session or similar monotonous workout. There are so many workouts on the market that cater to every fitness level! Yoga, pilates, HIIT, Tabata, Piyo, Piyolet, Zumba...high impact, low impact, dance centered...you name it, there is something for everyone. There is bound to be SOMETHING you like and enjoy. Exercise and a fitness lifestyle doesn't necessarily have to be the traditional definition of exercise. As a matter of fact, let's not look at it as exercise! Let's just start with something you enjoy and then gradually elevate to a progressively challenging level. Find what works for YOU, but get moving today! One day, or day one! You choose. See you on the fit side!
